The fifth conference, "The Role of Carbon-Graphite Products in Industry," will be held on May 28-29 in Moscow. This is the only carbon-graphite industry event in the CIS. This year, the conference will attract over 200 participants from 100 companies in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Belarus.

The conference is designed as a production and technical event, bringing together the expertise of researchers and manufacturers of carbon-graphite products and materials. Speakers include leading experts from NUST MISIS, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, RTU "MIREA," St. Petersburg Mining University, a leading graphite research institute, and the Carbon-Based Materials Association, as well as department heads from metallurgical giants and leading raw material producers. 

According to the organizers, the program is designed specifically for managers and specialists in production and engineering services at metallurgical enterprises.

"As Russia's largest producer of carbon and graphite products, we have an educational mission: we provide our metallurgical colleagues with up-to-date knowledge on the development of our industry. This ranges from academic knowledge to market reviews. This year, like many sectors of Russian industry, we are clearly focusing on the raw materials agenda. One of our experts is preparing a major report on the economics of raw materials import substitution in metallurgy.

This will be an attempt to demonstrate a concrete strategy for eliminating dependence on foreign suppliers, which many are currently trying to overcome. I am confident this is a strategically important task, " comments Sergey Ushakov, CEO of the conference organizer, El 6 Group. 

The conference will feature a presentation of the results of a study on the level of raw material import substitution in the Russian metallurgy industry, conducted by El 6 Group in collaboration with industry associations.

The program will also include presentations on reforming personnel training, logistics, and production automation.

As a reminder, the conference "On the Role of Carbon-Graphite Products in Industry" will be held for the fifth time in 2026. Last year, the event was held in Kazan. It was attended by 182 specialists from 83 companies and research institutes in Russia and five foreign countries (Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and the UAE).

The conference was organized by El-6 Group, the largest manufacturer of carbon-graphite products in the EAEU and one of only five globally with a full line of graphite electrodes ranging in diameter from 75 to 750 mm.
