During the first two days of Metal-Expo 2025, El 6 Group (Russia's largest producer of carbon-graphite products) signed several agreements with Russian steel companies for annual supplies of graphite electrodes. The combined volume of these contracts represents 10% of El 6 Group's annual production of graphite electrodes supplied to the Russian market.

The agreements signed in St. Petersburg cover medium-sized electrodes with diameters of 406, 457, and 508 mm. El 6 Group's supplies will cover 60 to 95% of its customers' annual needs.

"This year's Metal-Expo is particularly productive and eventful. All key Russian players are represented at the exhibition. Foreign manufacturers of carbon-graphite products and their distributors have also significantly expanded their presence. We are pleased that, in an increasingly competitive environment, our graphite electrodes are in high demand among Russia's largest metallurgical companies. Import substitution is also relevant for our market," said Sergey Ushakov, CEO of El 6 Group.

As a reminder, in the fourth quarter of 2025, El 6 Group will begin industrial deliveries of a new line of needle coke graphite electrodes with a diameter of 750 mm. This is the largest type of electrode for electric arc furnaces. This makes the Russian manufacturer one of only five in the world with a full line of graphite electrodes with diameters from 75 to 750 mm in its product portfolio.

The 31st annual international industrial exhibition "Metal-Expo'2025" is being held in St. Petersburg from November 11th to 14th. The total number of exhibitors this year exceeded 800 companies, more than 350 of which were international. The exhibition occupies over 40,000 square meters, spread across four pavilions at Expo Forum.
